89 points -- Rich, expressive, relatively finely detailed earthy, black fruit and round, supple flavors that offer plenty of volume. The flavors are moderately well structured with ripe tannins and I like the precision here. This is very good wine in the context of the vintage and it too is quite approachable. This is riper than the 2001 and perhaps less classic but it delivers excellent quality.
