88 points -- The '97 Clos de la Barre has started to tighten up a bit which is interesting given how forward many '97s are these days. There is superb underlying material with medium weight| very well balanced flavors plus nice richness and surprisingly good cut. There is good length and while this is not for the long haul| it will benefit from another few years of bottle age.
