91 points -- (from a parcel located on the western facing slope of Pernand-Vergelesses that yielded 47 hl/ha). An intense blast of chardonnay fruit and minerals laced with citrus undertones is followed by crisp, precise mineral-laden flavors of impressive length. This could use a bit more flesh but because of the solid acidity, it comes across as somewhat hard and severe. It will clearly take some bottle age before the wine begins to fill out. Note: I was slightly hard on this wine as it has indeed fleshed out nicely and retains the freshness and raciness it did in its youth. While it could be approached now, it should continue to improve and round out. In a word, lovely
